Lisa Bick is a Finalist for the New Mexico Arts' "Art in Public Places Initiative"
Lisa's four paintings Bittersweet Journey, Blue Windows, Marigold Skies, and Points of Interest, have been selected as finalists for the New Mexico Art's "Art in Public Places" Purchase Initiative. The Art in Public Places (AIPP) program enriches New Mexico's communities through innovative and diverse public art. Since its inception nearly 25 years ago, the program has placed more than 2,500 works of art in all of New Mexico's 33 counties. The goal of the program is to reflect the diversity of the arts in New Mexico, the Southwest, and the nation while building a dynamic public art collection for the State of New Mexico.
New Mexico Arts (NMA) is the state agency and a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs. The 15-member governor-appointed New Mexico Arts Commission serves as the advisory board. NMA's primary function is to provide financial support to art services and programs to non-profit organizations statewide and to administer the 1% public art program for the State of New Mexico.

Upcoming Exhibition: San Luis Obispo Museum of Art (Nov. 20, 2015–Jan. 31, 2016)
Lisa's work has been selected for an upcoming exhibition at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art (SLOMA, San Luis Obispo, CA). Her painting, Memoire, will be on view in the national juried exhibition, entitled Another Way of Keeping a Diary, sponsored by the International Encaustic Association (IEA).
Exhibition Dates: November 20, 2015 – January 31, 2016.
SLOMA Art Talk and Opening Reception: Saturday, November 21, 2 PM, with a reception to follow from 3 to 5 PM.
The exhibition was organized Lola Baltzell and Flo Bartell (IEA) and SLOMA Curator Ruta Saliklis, and juried by artist David Limrite.
The theme of Another Way of Keeping a Diary is based on Picasso’s statement that “painting is another way of keeping a diary.” In this exhibit, artists will reflect, examine and demonstrate through encaustics the ways in which their art-making is a reflection of both inner life and personal history to record what is most meaningful to them through their art.
San Luis Obispo Museum of Art is located in the university city of San Luis Obispo, California and is the hub of the California Central Coast art community. The Grey Wing is SLOMA’s spacious main gallery. San Luis Obispo’s charming historic downtown boasts a variety of artisan restaurants, boutique shopping, farmer’s markets, festivals, and cultural offerings you’d expect from a much larger city. Beautiful beaches, countless wineries, Spanish missions, and an abundance of recreational opportunities abound throughout the area.
San Luis Obispo Museum of Art is located at 1010 Broad Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
